About the role

Juniper Networks is hiring a Software Engineer 2 to join their cutting-edge AWAN Platform Team in Bangalore. This team drives innovation for high-performance networking systems used across next-generation 5G networks, data centers, and service provider infrastructure. As a key contributor, you will focus on developing platform software including board bring-up, interface drivers for high-speed ports (10G, 40G, 100G, 400G), and core infrastructure across Junos and Junos EVO-based systems. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain platform software for chassis, line cards, optics, fabric, and more Board bring-up and driver development for high-speed interfaces Work on Juniper's proprietary hardware and merchant silicon-based systems Collaborate with test teams to deliver production-quality systems Support Juniper TAC in addressing high-priority customer escalations Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's in CS or Computer Engineering 1–2 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems or networking Proficiency in C/C++, system-level debugging, object-oriented programming Solid understanding of data structures and OS-level programming concepts Preferred Skills: Exposure to Junos or Junos EVO architectures Familiarity with PCIe, SPI, I2C protocols Background in working on large-scale distributed systems Experience with platform-level test automation
