Job details:
Kulfi is hiring: a junior video editor for talking-head content.
Full-time. Entry-level, video-first role. You'll work directly with the founders and content team. There's basically no hierarchy here.
What Kulfi is
We're building a couples gaming app, the kind of thing you play with your partner instead of both sitting on the couch doom-scrolling separately. We ship 4-5 new games a month, and our content philosophy comes down to one rule: nothing we make should look like an ad. If it's not good enough to watch on its own, it doesn't go up.
We're small, so this role is hands-on from day one. You'll be learning fast, shooting and editing real content within your first week, and getting direct feedback instead of sitting through onboarding decks.
The role
We need someone to help edit (and sometimes shoot) our talking-head content for Instagram and YouTube, and in a way that people don't scroll past. People don't scroll past is the key here. Your job will be reviewed based on retention graphs, and NOT COOL EDITS. This isn't a "send us your footage and we'll tell you what's wrong" kind of job. You're in the room for the shoot, and you're the one at the timeline after.
This is a junior role. We're not expecting you to walk in with five years of polish. We're expecting you to be quick to learn, quick to execute, and genuinely into the craft.
What you'll be doing
- Helping set up and shoot talking-head videos.
- Editing talking-heads for retention, not just for polish. Cutting out dead air, tightening pacing, knowing why someone stops scrolling
- Adding captions, basic graphics, and sound design where needed
- Working closely with the person writing and delivering the scripts, so you understand the intent behind each video before you cut it
- Learning our AI video tools (Higgsfield, Claude, Sandcastles) over time.
- Keeping a consistent visual and editing style across our Instagram talking-head content.
Who this is for?
Not someone who needs spoonfeeding. This is for someone who:
- Is early in their career but has already been editing on their own, reels, YouTube, college projects, anything
- Wants to get better fast and is okay being told a cut isn't working yet
- Is comfortable being around a camera and helping direct a shoot, even if they're not the one on camera
- Cares about what's actually good, not just what's technically correct
- Would rather be a little out of their depth doing real work than comfortable doing busywork
If you're the person in your friend group who's already sending everyone the good reels before they've even seen them, you'll fit in here.
What you get
- Real hands-on experience across shoot and edit, not just sitting behind a timeline
- Direct mentorship from the content team, fast feedback loops instead of waiting for a review cycle
- Exposure to how a fast-moving app builds and runs its own content engine
- Room to grow into a bigger content or production role as you get better
How to apply
Send us:
- A few edits you're proud of, doesn't need to be professional work, reels or personal projects are fine.
- Anything you've shot yourself, even on a phone, and why you shot it that way
- The creators or editors whose work you actually study, and what you're taking from them
If you've got the eye and the hustle, we'll teach you the rest.
