AltBollywood is looking for a sharp, pop-culture obsessed Junior Sub Editor to join our editorial team.
We are looking for someone who lives and breathes entertainment, Bollywood, internet culture, celebrity conversations and the constantly evolving world of popular culture. The ideal candidate should have a strong command of language, an eye for detail and the ability to make editorial content sharper, cleaner and more engaging.
What You'll Do
- Edit and proofread articles, interviews, features and other editorial content.
- Ensure accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax and formatting.
- Fact-check names, dates, titles, credits and other relevant information.
- Write and refine headlines, subheadings, captions and copy.
- Maintain consistency in AltBollywood's editorial voice and style.
- Work closely with writers and editors to improve clarity, structure and readability.
- Keep up with Bollywood, entertainment, celebrity news, digital culture and emerging pop-culture conversations.
- Assist the editorial team with research, content ideation and publishing workflows.
What We're Looking For
- 0 to 2 years of experience in editorial, journalism, digital media, publishing or a related field.
- Excellent command of written English.
- A strong understanding of grammar, language and editorial style.
- A sharp eye for detail and accuracy.
- Genuine interest in Bollywood, entertainment, celebrity culture and the internet.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced digital media environment.
- Strong research and fact-checking skills.
- Ability to take editorial feedback and continuously improve.
Bonus points if you:
- Follow entertainment and pop culture beyond mainstream Bollywood.
- Understand what makes content clickable without compromising editorial quality.
- Have experience with digital publishing platforms and content management systems.
- Can bring strong opinions, fresh perspectives and cultural awareness to the editorial table.
