Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Junior Software Engineer role. The Junior Software Engineer will collaborate with senior engineers to design, develop, and maintain back-end services that power ScandVPN’s secure network and client applications. Day-to-day tasks include implementing new features, writing clean and testable code, fixing bugs, and improving performance and reliability of existing systems. The role involves participating in code reviews, contributing to technical documentation, and working closely with product and QA teams to ensure high-quality releases. The engineer will also help monitor system health and support continuous improvements to scalability, security, and user experience.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with Software Development and Programming using at least one modern language (e.g., Go, Rust, Python, Java, or similar).
- Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, and working with databases.
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and ability to apply them in practice.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Interest in security, privacy, and networking technologies such as VPNs, encryption, and authentication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
