Role Description The Junior Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based at Premier Energies’ facility in Naidupeta. This role supports the implementation of health, safety, and security procedures across the plant, conducting regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. The Junior Safety Officer assists in accident and incident investigations, maintains safety records and documentation, and helps ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. The role involves coordinating and delivering safety training and awareness programs for team members, promoting a proactive safety culture on the shop floor and in office areas. The Junior Safety Officer works closely with operations, maintenance, and management teams to support continuous improvement in workplace safety and occupational health.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health principles, with the ability to apply them in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience or training in Accident Investigation, including root cause analysis and preparing reports with corrective and preventive actions.
- Understanding of Security practices related to access control, emergency response, and protection of people and assets.
- Ability to support and conduct Safety Training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for diverse teams.
- Relevant diploma or degree in safety, engineering, environmental science, or a related field; certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are an advantage.
- Familiarity with local labor, safety, and environmental regulations, and basic knowledge of ISO or other safety management systems.
- Good observational, documentation, and reporting skills, with attention to detail and proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive attitude and willingness to work on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
