About the Department of Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture
The department was established in 1952. During the last 60 years of its existence, the department has made significant contributions to shipbuilding and shipping industries in the country including the Indian Navy, Indian Coastal Guard, DRDO, and other allied organizations. In addition to teaching and training at the various levels of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs, the Department is also actively involved in research and industrial projects sponsored by the government, research organizations, and industry. Areas of study under this include marine vehicles for cargo and passenger transportation, offshore activities, ocean mining, ocean and marine hydrodynamics, harnessing of non-conventional energy sources, etc., reflecting the diversity of the field.
Role Description
This is a temporary on-site role for a Junior Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. The role involves conducting research, data collection, analysis, and assisting in research projects. Daily tasks include literature reviews, data interpretation, report writing, and team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (B.Tech. / M.Tech./ Naval Architect/ Mechanical/ Civil/Ocean Engineering. and 2 Years experience in relevant field)
- Research skills, Data Analysis, and Report Writing abilities
- Ability to conduct literature reviews and data interpretation
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Experience with research methodologies and tool
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Relevant Experience: Prior experience in CFD software, 3D modeling are preferred
