We manufacture over 500 products and cater to 8 different industries including custom rotational moulding. We are vendors to leading automotive companies for fuels tanks, in-cab parts, fenders, roof tops, ad blue tanks etc. BDI also manufactures various kinds of road barriers and other allied products for the safety industry. For material handling products we manufacture the entire range of plastic pallets (with foam/ without foam/with steel reinforcement). Dustbins, Twin bins, Garbage Chutes, Hospital furniture are some of the other products BDI does. Our speciality lies in custom moulding and developing newer concepts and products right from the “sketch off a napkin”. With 5 plants in western, northern and southern India, BDI is well poised to serve customers PAN India.
Job Summary
The Junior Engineer – QA in the Rotomoulding Industry is responsible for ensuring product quality throughout incoming,
in-process, and final inspection stages. The role focuses on maintaining quality standards, reducing defects, handling
customer complaints, supporting OEM audits, and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). The engineer
works closely with production, maintenance, and customer teams to ensure consistent product quality and customer
satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
In-Process & Final Quality Control
Monitor in-process quality checks during roto moulding operations.
Perform dimensional, visual, leak, wall thickness, and fitment inspections.
Ensure product quality compliance as per customer drawings and specifications.
Verify first-off, patrol inspection, and final inspection activities.
Control rejection, rework, and non-conforming products.
Incoming Quality Inspection
Inspect incoming raw materials such as polymer powder, inserts, fittings, caps, and bought-out parts.
Ensure supplier quality compliance as per approved standards.
Coordinate supplier quality improvement actions where required.
Customer Complaint Handling
Attend customer complaints related to leakage, fitment issues, cracks, warpage, dimensional variation, etc.
Perform root cause analysis using Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone, and 8D methodology.
Prepare and submit CAPA / 8D reports to customers within defined timelines.
Coordinate with internal teams for permanent corrective action implementation.
OEM / Customer Audit Compliance
Support customer audits such as JCB, John Deere, Mahindra, CNH, and other OEM audits.
Ensure readiness of audit documents, process controls, and traceability records.
Maintain compliance with customer-specific requirements and standards.
Quality Documentation
Maintain inspection reports, PDI records, rejection reports, calibration records, and audit documents.
Ensure control plans, SOPs, PFMEA, process sheets, and check sheets are updated.
Maintain traceability and quality records as per ISO and OEM requirements.
Continuous Improvement
Analyze rejection trends and drive reduction projects.
Support Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and process improvement initiatives.
Monitor COPQ, QPPM, and customer PPM performance.
Participate in quality review meetings and management reporting.
Safety & 5S
Ensure quality lab and inspection areas follow 5S standards.
Support safe handling of inspection tools and testing equipment.
Maintain discipline and compliance with plant safety procedures.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of QA processes in rotomoulding/plastic manufacturing
Understanding of leak testing, dimensional inspection, and visual quality checks
Knowledge of quality tools: 7 QC Tools, CAPA, 8D, Why-Why, Fishbone, SPC
Experience in customer complaint handling and audit preparation
Familiarity with OEM audit systems and customer expectations
Good communication and reporting skills
Working knowledge of MS Excel, PPT, and quality documentation
Preferred Competencies
Experience in fuel tank manufacturing, automotive plastic parts, or blow/roto moulding industry
Exposure to OEM customers like JCB, John Deere, Mahindra, TAFE, CNH
Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF documentation systems
Understanding of polymer material behaviour and process-related defects
