We're Hiring: Junior QA Engineer (Automation & Manual Testing)
Location: Indore, Madhya Pradesh (On-Site)
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Rs. 20,000 – 30,000 / month (Based on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive QA Engineer to establish a robust testing process for our software products. Your primary objective will be to prevent broken updates from reaching production by creating test cases, performing regression testing on Pull Requests, and introducing basic automated testing suites.
Key Responsibilities
- PR Testing: Test every Pull Request in a staging environment before it gets approved for production.
- Regression Testing: Build and maintain a checklist/suite of core product features to ensure zero regressions after code updates.
- Automated Testing: Write basic automated test scripts (unit/integration/E2E) using tools like Postman, Jest, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Bug Documentation: Document steps to reproduce bugs clearly and work directly with developers to resolve them promptly.
- Release Verification: Validate production deployments to ensure stable performance.
Tech Stack You'll Work With
Our product is a WhatsApp-native AI platform — most testing happens at the API, queue, and conversation-flow level rather than on a traditional web UI.
Core (Must Have)
- API Testing — Postman / Insomnia: REST API testing, collections, environments, assertions, mock servers.
- Jest (Node.js): Running and writing unit/integration tests; understanding mock fixtures and test coverage reports.
- Git & GitHub: Pulling developer branches, checking out PRs, testing locally/on staging; basic GitHub Actions awareness.
- MongoDB basics: Querying collections to verify data was actually written correctly after an action (not just that the app said so).
- Test documentation: Clear repro steps, expected vs actual, severity tagging (P0–P3).
Good to Have
- WhatsApp / messaging flow testing: Webhooks, message delivery, multi-user conversation scenarios, reply-chain edge cases.
- Redis & BullMQ awareness: Understanding job queues enough to verify retries, delayed jobs, and scheduled reminders actually fire.
- E2E automation — Cypress / Playwright / Selenium: For dashboard and web-console flows.
- Testing AI/LLM outputs: Verifying bot responses against expected behaviour, catching hallucinated confirmations, prompt regression checks.
- Multilingual testing: Hindi/Hinglish/Devanagari input handling — our users type in mixed languages, and so should your test cases.
- CI/CD basics: GitHub Actions pipelines, pre-merge test gates.
Requirements
- Experience: 1–2 years in QA testing (Manual + basic Automation).
- Tools Knowledge: Hands-on experience with API testing (Postman/Insomnia) and basic UI automation frameworks.
- Testing Mindset: Ability to think like an end-user while anticipating edge cases where code might break.
- Git Basics: Basic knowledge of Git to pull developer branches and test them locally or on staging.
- Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Indore for an on-site role.
