Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Marine Offshore Operations to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring vessel activities, ensuring operational efficiency, optimizing logistics, and liaising with multiple stakeholders to guarantee seamless port calls and compliance with maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Vessel Monitoring
• Evaluate vessel performance, including speed, weather, fuel consumption, and remaining onboard supplies (ROBs), and highlight any abnormalities or deviations.
• Review and monitor noon and other periodical reports from assigned vessels.
Maintaining Statement of Accounts and Following Up with Service Providers
• Check monthly accounts of expenses against vouchers to ascertain relevant cost heads and keep accounts of expenses as per budgeted heads.
• Follow up closely with the vessel on the utilization of resources and keep track of daily work done.
Port Call Coordination
• Appoint agents for vessel calls at various ports well in advance, ensuring competitive quotes and alignment with port call requirements.
• Arrange pre-funding for port calls and monitor expenditures; secure additional funds for unforeseen expenses as necessary.
• Audit disbursement accounts (DAs) post-vessel departure and liaise with Technical Managers and local agents for resolution.
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, clients, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Technical Managers for port arrival arrangements and address special requests from charterers.
• Sound knowledge of commercial ship operations.
• Communicate with local agents and port authorities to ensure smooth operations and compliance with local requirements.
ERP Software Entries and Monitoring
• Weekly task entries and ensuring proper functioning of ERP software and generating monthly reports.
• Checking inventories and monitoring consumptions.
• Preparing MIS reports for management.
Weather and Risk Management
• Monitor global weather reports and piracy/hostility-related situations, ensuring corrective measures are implemented in collaboration with Technical Managers.
Regulatory Compliance
• Stay updated on changes in local regulations, IMO guidelines, and international canal crossing requirements (e.g., Suez and Panama Canals).
• Ensure compliance with all maritime regulations and safety protocols (e.g., ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL).
• Handle marine offshore operations, especially involving ONGC charterers’ requirements in the Indian circuit vessels.
• Liaison with and maintain ship certification and MMD.
• Handle daily operations regarding AHTS vessels, towing operations, and anchor handling operational requirements.
• Indian DOC and flag certification experience is a must.
• Offshore ISM procedures and OVID/OVIQ4.
• Interactions with Class, MWS inspectors, and offshore certification.
• Monitor training requirements of seagoing personnel as per charterers matrix.
• Advise on necessary operational changes to ensure full compliance with evolving guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Operations, Logistics, or a related field.
• Prior experience in shipping or marine operations is a must.
• Marine engineering or related certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate vessel performance and identify abnormalities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder coordination.
• Proficiency in maritime regulations, including IMO guidelines and global port operations.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools for vessel monitoring and operations management.
