Job Title: Draftsman (Mechanical / Electrical / Civil)
Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman with 5–10 years of experience in the steel or heavy engineering industry. The candidate should possess strong hands-on expertise in drafting and detailing across mechanical, electrical, and civil domains, with proficiency in industry-standard design software. The role involves preparing accurate technical drawings, layouts, and fabrication details in line with project requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and fabrication drawings for steel structures and related systems.
- Develop 2D and 3D models for mechanical components, electrical layouts, and civil structures.
- Interpret engineering designs, specifications, and calculations into precise technical drawings.
- Coordinate with design engineers, project teams, and site personnel to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Revise drawings based on feedback, site conditions, and project changes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and company procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation, drawing registers, and version control.
- Support project execution by providing drawings for fabrication, erection, and installation.
- Conduct site visits when required to verify dimensions and conditions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5–10 years of drafting experience, preferably in the steel or heavy engineering industry.
- Strong proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- CATIA
- STAAD. Pro
- Hands-on experience in preparing:
- Structural steel drawings (GA, fabrication, erection)
- Mechanical layouts and assemblies
- Electrical schematics and cable routing layouts
- Civil foundation and structural drawings
- Good understanding of engineering standards, tolerances, and materials used in the steel industry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering documents.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on plant projects (steel plants, power plants, industrial facilities).
- Knowledge of 3D Modeling and clash detection.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (IS, ASTM, etc.).
- Basic understanding of project workflows and coordination across disciplines.
