Role Description
We are looking for a Junior Interior Designer with 2–3 years of professional experience and strong drafting and technical documentation skills.
The selected candidate will work closely with the principal architect and project team to prepare accurate interior working drawings, develop detailed project documentation, coordinate design information, and support ongoing interior and architecture projects.
Strong AutoCAD ability, drawing accuracy, and understanding of interior detailing will be more important for this role than advanced visualisation or concept design skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate interior working drawings, elevations, sections, and detailed documentation
- Develop furniture layouts, flooring layouts, reflected ceiling plans, electrical layouts, and toilet and kitchen details
- Prepare furniture, joinery, wardrobe, kitchen, vanity, wall panelling, and other interior details
- Convert sketches, site measurements, reference images, and design instructions into clear technical drawings
- Revise drawings based on design discussions, vendor inputs, consultant coordination, and site conditions
- Maintain drawing standards, file organisation, revision records, and project documentation
- Coordinate drawings with architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors
- Assist with BOQs, material schedules, quantity take-offs, and technical submissions when required
- Participate in site visits, measurements, and execution reviews
- Identify drawing inconsistencies and resolve them before issue or execution
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong ability to prepare clear and accurate interior working drawings
- Good understanding of plans, elevations, sections, dimensions, and construction details
- Good understanding of furniture, joinery, kitchen, wardrobe, ceiling, flooring, and interior detailing
- Working knowledge of SketchUp
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Good file management and documentation habits
- Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy
- Ability to understand instructions and complete tasks independently
- Comfortable communicating in Hindi and basic professional English
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of any of the following will be an advantage:
- Revit
- Lumion, Enscape, V-Ray, or Twinmotion
- Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign
- Excel and BOQ preparation
- Material schedules and specifications
- Site measurement and execution coordination
- Vendor and shop drawing coordination
- AI-assisted design, presentation, or documentation tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field
- 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in an interior design or architecture and interiors practice
- Candidates should have a portfolio or sample working drawings demonstrating strong drafting and technical documentation ability.
