Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai for a Draughtsman, Junior Interior Designer. The role involves preparing detailed architectural and interior drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and working drawings, using industry-standard CAD and design tools. The team member will assist senior designers in developing interior concepts, selecting materials and finishes, and preparing mood boards and presentations for clients. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with project managers and site teams to ensure design details are accurately implemented, updating drawings based on feedback, and maintaining organized drawing documentation. The role also includes basic site visits for measurements, documentation, and verification of executed work against design specifications.
Qualifications
- Ability to prepare accurate 2D drawings and technical documentation using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar tools).
- Foundational interior design skills, including space planning, understanding of materials and finishes, and an eye for proportion and detail.
- Competence in creating visual presentations, basic 3D views, and mood boards using design and presentation software (e.g., SketchUp, Photoshop, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple drawing updates, version control, and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with senior designers, project managers, vendors, and site teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow design guidelines, building standards, and project specifications.
- Diploma or degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness to visit sites in Mumbai for measurements, coordination, and design verification; prior internship or junior experience in design practice is an advantage.
