Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Engineer (Civil) at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, located in the Greater Hyderabad Area. The Junior Engineer will be responsible for overseeing civil maintenance works such as structural repairs, painting, plumbing, carpentry, additions/alterations on campus, Horticulture, etc. Daily tasks include preparing cost estimates, schedules, and reports, coordinating with contractors and teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including structural design and material properties
- Proficiency in project management, cost estimation, and preparation of construction schedules
- Experience with quality checks, safety compliance, and site inspections
- Ability to work collaboratively with contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of relevant software and tools such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, or similar
- Diploma /Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Work experience in civil projects or construction management is an added advantage
- Strong communication and organizational skills
