Healthcare Technology Innovation Centre (HTIC) is a multi-disciplinary R&D center established through a collaboration between the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. Role Description
This is an on-site position for a Junior Electronics Design Engineer, based in Chennai. The engineer will support MCU-based electronics design and firmware development for embedded systems used in drones, sensing platforms, and research prototypes. The role involves board bring-up, debugging, and close coordination with firmware and system teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and review MCU-based schematics and peripheral interfaces
- Support firmware development for MCU platforms (drivers, BSP, application code)
- Bring up and debug custom PCBs (power, clocking, reset, interfaces)
- Interface MCUs with sensors, cameras, motors, and communication modules
- Use debugging tools (JTAG/SWD, logic analyser, oscilloscope)
- Support board validation, testing, and iteration
- Maintain design documentation, pin maps, and test notes
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electronic Engineering and Electrical Engineering
- Proficiency in Circuit Design and Analog circuit design
- Hands-on experience or knowledge in working with Electronics components and systems
- Basic understanding of testing and troubleshooting circuits
- Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Enthusiasm for developing technologies that address healthcare challenges
- Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering
- Hands-on experience in MCU-based embedded systems will be an added advantage
