We’re looking for a Junior Mentor who is passionate about education, strategic counselling, and guiding students to become the best versions of themselves. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and want to make a real difference, this role is for you!
Role Purpose
Support students through the college-essay process by helping them brainstorm, outline, and refine application essays and creative submissions while maintaining quality, timelines, and the student’s authentic voice. This is an individual contributor role, with strong writing output and structured editing.
Key Skills (Required)
- Exceptional long-form writing: narrative clarity, tone control, structure, and flow
- Multi-dimensional creativity: essays, stories, scripts, portfolios/creative supplements, reflective writing
- Strong communication skills: student-friendly feedback, clarity, empathy, responsiveness
- Basic client-handling maturity: professionalism with students/parents, ability to manage expectations and timelines
Key Responsibilities
1) Student Essay Development (Core)
- Drive the essay journey for students by first understanding the student deeply (profile, voice, values, goals, experiences).
- Help translate the student’s “brand” into a cohesive set of deliverables:
- Personal statement / main essay
- University-specific supplements
- Short answers, activities descriptions, awards, additional info sections (as relevant)
- Conduct brainstorming and outline sessions; build strong narrative arcs with clear themes and authenticity.
- Help students draft and refine essays to ensure they are coherent and submission-ready—aligned to university expectations.
2) Editing, Feedback & Quality
- Provide detailed edits for structure, content, storytelling, voice, clarity, and impact (not only grammar).
- Ensure each draft meets internal quality benchmarks (prompt alignment, originality, tone, word limits, formatting).
- Maintain clean version control and documentation across drafts and feedback cycles.
3) Company Writing Support (PR + Content)
- Support writing needs for the company’s public-facing work:
- Website copy, brochures, student success stories
- Social media content, announcements, newsletters
- Event/workshop communications
- Maintain brand tone, correctness, and clarity across formats.
4) Cross-Team Support (Student Counselling Enablement)
- Coordinate with other counsellors to stay aligned on student goals, university strategy, and deadlines.
- Support counselling outcomes by ensuring writing deliverables match the student’s academic and extracurricular direction.
- Flag risks early (missed deadlines, unclear student direction, low responsiveness, misalignment with strategy).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Psychology, journalism and related disciplines from a recognised institution.
Based in: Noida (on-site)
Working Hours: 11 am to 6:30 pm
Working Days: Monday to Saturday (Thursday WFH)
It's an entry-level job, so the salary will be set accordingly, taking into account industry standards and the skills required for the role.
