Role Description The Junior DevOps Engineer role is a full-time, remote position responsible for supporting and improving cloud-based infrastructure and deployment pipelines. Day-to-day work includes assisting with the implementation and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code, contributing to CI pipelines, monitoring systems, and troubleshooting environments in collaboration with senior engineers. The role involves working with Linux-based systems, supporting application deployments, and helping automate recurring operational tasks. The Junior DevOps Engineer will also document processes, follow best practices for security and reliability, and participate in code reviews and team ceremonies to continuously improve workflows.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and basic System Administration to support and maintain cloud environments.
- Candidates should possess skills in Linux and System Administration to manage servers, troubleshoot issues, and ensure stable operations.
- Candidates should possess skills in Continuous Integration and Software Development to contribute to build pipelines, deployment processes, and automation scripts.
- Foundational understanding of cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud), containers (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes) is beneficial.
- Ability to write clear technical documentation, collaborate in distributed teams, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience in DevOps or cloud engineering.
- Familiarity with version control (Git), scripting languages (such as Python or Bash), and basic security and monitoring concepts is a plus.
