Hiring: Junior Designer
We are looking for a Junior Designer to join our team in Mumbai to support the design and product development process from concept through execution. If you have 0–2 years of experience in fashion design / product development and thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple styles and timelines, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct trend research and competitive analysis across brands, marketplaces, and digital platforms
- Develop mood boards, design concepts, and seasonal directions aligned with brand positioning
- Create design specifications, and preliminary tech packs
- Collaborate with sampling teams to execute proto development and ensure timely approvals
- Monitor fit sessions, design iterations, and sample corrections
- Plan and develop styles based on fabric availability, costing considerations, and business requirements
- Coordinate with vendors and internal production teams to ensure seamless execution
- Track and manage sampling and production timelines, ensuring on-time delivery
- Support fabric and trim sourcing activities in line with design and cost targets
- Maintain and update development trackers, documentation, and reporting systems
- Ensure effective cross-functional communication between design, production, and vendor teams
Key Requirements
- 0–2 years of experience in fashion design, product development, or related functions
- Working knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and production processes
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Excel
- Strong planning, organisational, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Basic understanding of costing and commercial considerations
- Strong trend awareness with a focus on market relevance
