Role Description The Junior Design Engineer (Civil) is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhubaneswar. The individual will assist in preparing architectural and structural drawings, floor plans, and 2D/3D civil design models in line with project requirements and local standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting senior engineers in design calculations, preparing CAD layouts, coordinating with construction teams, and helping optimize designs for cost efficiency and structural performance. The role involves reviewing site measurements, updating design documentation, assisting with project estimation, and maintaining clear records to support transparent project management. The Junior Design Engineer will collaborate closely with consultants, contractors, and project managers to ensure design intent is accurately translated into construction.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Design Engineering skills, with an understanding of civil design principles and structural behavior.
- Candidates should possess Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills, including proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar civil/structural design software.
- Candidates should possess relevant Mechanical Engineering knowledge where applicable to civil works, such as detailing of mechanical components within building systems.
- Candidates should possess basic Electrical Engineering awareness to coordinate civil designs with electrical layouts in building projects.
- Candidates should possess Product Design or equivalent skills for developing practical, buildable design details and solutions.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
- Foundational knowledge of Indian building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and survey data.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams on-site.
- Willingness to learn, take guidance from senior engineers, and adapt to updated construction techniques.
