Skills
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and networking.
- Working knowledge of C# or Java and object-oriented programming, with an interest in building reliable backend systems.
- Good understanding of concurrency, asynchronous programming, and multi-threaded application design.
- Ability to reason about data as continuous streams rather than static batches, including event-driven processing and pipeline-based architectures.
- Familiarity with distributed systems concepts such as messaging, fault tolerance, latency, throughput, and backpressure.
- Interest in financial market data, order updates, or other real-time data processing environments.
- Clear problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn quickly in a production-oriented engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Learn, develop, and help manage the new C# streaming stack for market data and order update processing.
- Work closely with the quant system architect to evolve the initial streaming foundation into a more robust, deployable, and redundant system.
- Help migrate existing batch-based workflows and polling-based frontend data delivery toward an end-to-end stream-based architecture.
- Build and maintain lower-level components focused on efficient stream processing, concurrency, and pipeline parallelism.
- Develop basic analytics on top of streaming data, with emphasis on how analytics fit into low-latency, real-time processing flows.
- Contribute to improving reliability, observability, and maintainability of the streaming stack as it moves away from the legacy system.
- Think critically about data flow, throughput, latency, and failure handling when designing and implementing system components.
Candidates with 6 months or more experience are preferred
