About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Junior Data Scientist / AI Engineer to join our expanding team in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to build AI-driven solutions and are enthusiastic about working on real-world machine learning and generative AI challenges. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative AI models, including natural language processing and generative AI applications, while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced startup environment.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior engineers and product teams to design, develop, and deploy AI models that power our products. While the primary focus will be on AI development, there will also be opportunities to engage in data-related tasks and support software engineering activities, providing a well-rounded experience in the AI ecosystem.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience or project work demonstrating relevant skills is also acceptable. Candidates should have a foundational understanding of machine learning concepts, proficiency in Python programming, and familiarity with AI/ML libraries. A strong curiosity to learn and a proactive attitude are essential for success in this role.

Additional qualifications include exposure to NLP, generative AI, and experience with basic data engineering tasks. Knowledge of cloud platforms, REST APIs, and web scraping tools will be considered a plus. Candidates should demonstrate good communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Develop, train, and fine-tune machine learning and AI models, focusing on NLP and generative AI use cases, including large language models, embeddings, and semantic search applications.

Design and optimize AI pipelines and inference workflows to ensure efficient deployment and real-time performance.

Experiment with various models, frameworks, and techniques to enhance model performance, accuracy, and efficiency.

Assist in deploying AI models into production environments, ensuring scalability and robustness.

Continuously evaluate model performance, analyze results, and implement improvements based on feedback and new research developments.

Perform data preprocessing, cleaning, and transformation tasks to prepare datasets for model training and evaluation.

Support data collection pipelines, data scraping, and basic data engineering activities such as ETL processes and data structuring.

Contribute to backend or API development to facilitate AI model integration into applications.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
