Role Description
The Junior Curator - Documentation is a full-time, on-site role based in Jodhpur. The role involves cataloging, documenting, and preserving the Museum Trust's collection, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of records. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining a comprehensive inventory of artifacts, conducting research to enhance collections, and providing detailed documentation. The Junior Curator will also work on preparing reports, assisting with exhibitions, and contributing to the museum's archival activities.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Cataloging and Documentation, including organizing and maintaining detailed records of artifacts
- Experience with Research and Historical Data Analysis for verifying and enhancing collection details
- Strong Writing and Editing skills, including the ability to create reports and descriptive catalog entries
- Basic knowledge of Museum Practices and Collections Management
- Familiarity with Cultural Heritage or Art History is highly desirable
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a methodical approach to work
- Bachelor’s degree in Museology, History, Art History, or a related field; advanced degrees are an added advantage
- Interest in historical preservation and a commitment to promoting cultural heritage
- Willingness to be based in Jodhpur and work in an onsite capacity
