About the Role
We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented Junior Business Analyst to join our product and engineering team. You will work closely with senior BAs, product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable software requirements. This is a hands-on role designed for someone early in their career who wants to grow into a strong product/BA professional in a fast-moving SaaS environment.
You will spend your day talking to stakeholders, asking the right questions, documenting requirements, supporting Agile ceremonies, and helping the team ship features that solve real customer problems.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Documentation
• Engage with internal stakeholders and end-users to elicit business and functional requirements through interviews, workshops, and observation.
• Draft and maintain clear Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), and user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
• Create wireframes, process flows, and simple mock-ups to illustrate requirements (using tools like Figma, Lucidchart, or Draw.io).
• Validate requirements with stakeholders to ensure alignment before development begins.
Agile Delivery
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies — daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Create and maintain user stories, epics, and tasks; keep the backlog clean, prioritized, and up to date.
• Support the product owner in defining sprint goals and ensuring stories are ‘ready’ before they enter a sprint.
• Track sprint progress, flag blockers early, and help unblock the development team with quick clarifications.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and the engineering team — translating business language into technical clarity and vice versa.
• Share regular updates with stakeholders on feature progress, scope changes, and release timelines.
• Manage expectations professionally; raise risks, dependencies, and trade-offs early instead of late.
• Conduct demos and walkthroughs of new features to internal teams and (where appropriate) clients.
Analysis, Testing & Support
• Analyze existing workflows and suggest improvements; document ‘as-is’ vs ‘to-be’ processes.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) — write test cases, coordinate with users, log defects, and verify fixes.
• Maintain product documentation, release notes, and knowledge-base articles.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: 1 – 2 years in a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role. Minimum 1 year of relevant full-time experience is required (internships do not count toward the minimum).
• Requirements skills: Hands-on exposure to writing BRDs, FRDs, and user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Agile: Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum principles and practical experience managing backlogs and sprints.
• Stakeholder skills: Strong verbal and written communication; comfortable speaking with both business users and developers.
Good to Have (Bonus Points)
• Hands-on exposure to ERP or CRM products such as SAP, Salesforce, Frappe, Zoho, or similar.
• Prior experience working in a SaaS product company.
• Client-facing or customer success experience — comfort speaking directly with customers, running discovery calls, and handling feedback.
• Pre-sales or solutioning experience — building product demos, RFP/RFI responses, or scoping proposals.
• Certifications such as IIBA ECBA, CSPO, or equivalent.
