Job Description: Junior Business Analyst – AI Platforms & R&D
Department: Data Analytics and AI Solution - Research & Development / Platform Engineering
About the Team
You will be joining a dynamic, 200-member strong technology organization, working directly within our specialized 50-person Platform R&D division. Our mission is to research and develop cutting-edge AI solutions based on real-world use cases gathered by our sales teams. We operate as an innovation engine: we build rapid Proofs of Concept (POCs) for our sales teams, and when a POC demonstrates high market demand, we transform it into a robust, deployable enterprise solution.
Recent examples of our work include Spark, a platform designed for intelligent document information extraction, and our Company Data Platform, which uses a single company name to autonomously scrape, classify, and extract rich company profiles from the web.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly adaptable and imaginative Junior Business Analyst who thrives in ambiguity. In this role, you will be the crucial bridge between abstract ideas and tangible technology. You will take one-line statements and vague articulations from the sales team and translate them into concrete POC scopes. As products mature, you will expand those scopes into full-fledged business requirements, leverage AI to generate HTML mockups, and work closely with our engineering teams to bring these AI-native platforms to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirement Elicitation: Translate vague requests, one-line problem statements, and high-level sales needs into clear, actionable scopes for Proofs of Concept (POCs).
- Domain & Business Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses into specific business domains and problems to expand successful POCs into comprehensive, full-scale platform requirements.
- Rapid Prototyping: Utilize generative AI tools to create detailed HTML mockups that effectively communicate product vision, UI/UX flow, and application features to stakeholders and engineers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with UI (Angular) developers, Python engineers, and Database engineers (SQL & NoSQL) to guide the product development lifecycle from mockup to a fully functional application.
- System & Workflow Design: Design sophisticated, AI-native user interfaces and workflows that cater to background AI extractions, data processing, and human-in-the-loop curation and validation.
- Data Modeling Support: Collaborate with DB and backend engineers to ensure database schemas and Python services are perfectly aligned with business requirements and UI data consumption needs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Analytical Thinking: Exceptional ability to dissect vague information, ask the right questions, and structure ambiguous concepts into logical requirements.
- Technical Aptitude: Foundational understanding of how web applications work, including UI components, backend services (Python), and databases (both SQL and NoSQL).
- Prototyping Skills: Familiarity with basic HTML/CSS and a strong willingness to use AI-assisted tools to generate and modify technical mockups.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences.
- Workflow Mapping: Ability to visualize and document complex user journeys, especially those involving automated background processes and human review steps.
- An undergraduate degree in B.E. / B.Tech combined with an MBA from a premium institute (such as IIM, IIT, Great Lakes, or equivalent), and prior professional experience in Big 4 consulting, top-tier financial firms, or leading analytical firms.
Nice to Have
- Prior exposure to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Natural Language Processing (NLP) concepts (e.g., data extraction, web scraping, classification).
- Basic familiarity with Angular or similar frontend frameworks.
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum R&D or rapid prototyping environment.
