About the Role:
We're building a health-genomics product and looking for a Junior Backend Engineer to work alongside our Senior AI / Backend Engineer. You'll build the well-defined parts of the server — small APIs, forms, admin features, and automated tests — with every piece of your code reviewed before it ships. This is a strong role to learn and grow under an experienced lead.
What You'll Do:
Build small APIs, forms, and admin features under the guidance of a senior engineer.
Write automated tests for your code.
Participate in code reviews and apply feedback.
Learn the codebase, tooling, and best practices as you go.
Must Have:
Solid Python fundamentals.
Working knowledge of one web framework (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
Basic SQL, Git, and REST.
0–2 years of experience.
A real project or internship on GitHub we can review.
Nice to Have:
Some exposure to Docker or AWS.
pandas and Pytest.
An internship at a product company.
Hackathon participation or open-source contributions.
