About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Junior Android Developer who brings hands-on experience shipping production-grade Android applications. The ideal candidate is someone who has already built and published 3–4 apps, is comfortable integrating third-party and internal APIs, and actively uses AI tools to accelerate development. You will work closely with senior engineers and product managers to deliver high-quality features across a fast-moving product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack libraries.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party SDKs reliably, handling authentication, error states, and data parsing.
• Use AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Gemini Code Assist) as part of daily workflow to improve speed and code quality.
• Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage (unit + UI tests).
• Collaborate with designers to implement pixel-accurate UI from Figma or similar tools.
• Debug and resolve issues across the full Android stack — UI, networking, storage, and device compatibility.
• Participate in code reviews and continuously improve based on feedback.
• Contribute to technical documentation and maintain up-to-date changelogs.
Required Skills & Experience
• 1–3 years of Android development experience in Kotlin (Java familiarity is a plus).
• Portfolio of 3–4 Android apps — deployed to Play Store or demonstrable via APK/GitHub.
• Strong API integration skills: REST, JSON parsing, Retrofit/OkHttp, authentication (OAuth, API keys, JWT).
• Hands-on experience with Android Jetpack components: ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow, Room, Navigation.
• Working knowledge of Git and collaborative branching workflows.
• Practical use of AI coding assistants in development — not just awareness, but active daily usage.
• Solid understanding of Android UI fundamentals: RecyclerView, Fragments, Material Design components.
• Familiarity with async programming — Coroutines, Flow.
Good to Have
• Experience with Firebase (Auth, Firestore, FCM push notifications).
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar).
• Exposure to MVVM or Clean Architecture patterns.
• Published app on Google Play Store with real user base.
• Knowledge of in-app payments, maps integration, or BLE/IoT device communication.
