Welsbach is hiring for one of our portfolio companies building the AI operating layer for enterprises.
The company focuses on deploying AI agents that execute real business workflows across sales, operations, finance, and customer support — not dashboards or copilots.

Role OverviewThis role is for engineers with 2–3 years of experience who can already build software systems and now want to apply that to real-world AI systems.
You’ll work on building and shipping production AI workflows, while owning parts of systems and collaborating closely with senior engineers.
This is a hands-on builder role focused on execution, learning, and gradually taking ownership of modules within larger systems.
What You’ll Do- Build and improve AI agents and automation workflows
- Implement RAG pipelines (data ingestion, retrieval, basic ranking)
- Work on prompting, tool usage, and structured outputs
- Integrate AI systems into CRMs, internal tools, and external APIs
- Debug and improve output quality, latency, and reliability
- Take ownership of specific features or modules within larger systems
- Support deployment and maintenance of production AI systems
What We’re Looking ForExperience- 2–3 years of experience in software development, AI, or related roles
- Experience working on real-world projects (startup, internship, freelance, or full-time)
- Exposure to shipping code to production environments
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, AI, Data Science
Must Have- Strong working knowledge of Python
- Hands-on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, or similar open source LLMs)
- Familiarity with:
- Prompting techniques
- APIs and integrations
- RAG fundamentals (chunking, retrieval, basic pipelines)
- Ability to build and ship features independently
- Understanding of backend fundamentals (APIs, async workflows, data handling)
- Please include GitHub / portfolio / project links
Nice to Have- Experience with LangChain / LlamaIndex / agent frameworks
- Built projects like chatbots, RAG apps, or automation tools
- Exposure to vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, etc.)
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools (n8n, Zapier, etc.)
- Basic understanding of evaluation or improving LLM outputs
- You think in terms of building and shipping, not just experimenting
- You’re comfortable starting at the ideation stage and move ahead with evolving requirements
