AI Engineer – Planso
Planso is a deeptech AI company building the future of AEC intelligence — helping architects, developers, and built-environment teams optimize cost, carbon, and time.
Founded by engineers from IIT Madras, we are building AI-powered Site Intelligence, LLM + geospatial decision systems, and enterprise-grade AI agents.
What You’ll Work On
1. Build LLM-Powered AI Workflows
You will design and build intelligent workflows using Large Language Models, RAG pipelines, AI agents, and tool-calling frameworks. These systems will help users ask questions, retrieve insights, and make faster decisions from complex AEC and geospatial data.
2. Develop Context-Aware AI for Site Analysis
You will work on AI systems that understand project context, site constraints, user intent, and location-specific data. The goal is to help architects, developers, and design teams evaluate sites more intelligently across cost, carbon, time, risk, and feasibility.
3. Work with Geospatial and Built Environment Data
You will integrate and process datasets such as zoning, parcels, demographics, climate risk, flood zones, mobility, energy, and environmental data. You will help convert raw spatial data into meaningful insights for real-world decision-making.
4. Build AI + Map-Based Product Experiences
You will work closely with product, design, and frontend teams to build experiences that combine chat interfaces with spatial and map-based interfaces. This includes enabling users to interact with maps, ask questions, compare locations, and generate site intelligence reports.
5. Develop Production-Grade Backend Systems
You will build APIs, backend services, data pipelines, and core application logic for AI products. Your work will power enterprise-grade systems used by architecture, engineering, and construction teams.
6. Optimize AI Systems for Real-World Use
You will continuously improve AI workflows for accuracy, latency, cost, reliability, scalability, and user trust. This includes evaluating model outputs, improving retrieval quality, reducing hallucinations, and making the system production-ready.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of software engineering or applied AI experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and backend engineering
- Experience building or working with LLMs, RAG systems, vector databases, agents, or AI workflows
- Ability to design scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to solve ambiguous problems independently
- Comfort working in a fast-moving 0-to-1 product environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn deeply
- Interest in AI, geospatial systems, cities, architecture, infrastructure, or the built environment
