Role Overview
We are looking for a Junior Agricultural Engineer with 1–2 years of experience who is passionate about agricultural machinery and product development. This is a highly hands-on role involving field visits, farmer interactions, product testing, prototyping, troubleshooting, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable spending significant time on farms, understanding user problems, and converting field observations into engineering improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field visits and user studies to understand farmer requirements and operating conditions.
- Work closely with farmers to collect feedback and identify opportunities for product improvement.
- Assist the engineering team in designing and developing agricultural machinery.
- Create and modify basic CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Build, assemble, and evaluate prototypes.
- Plan and execute field trials and performance testing.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during product development and field deployment.
- Coordinate with design, production, purchase, quality, and service teams to ensure smooth product development.
- Document test results, observations, and engineering improvements.
- Support new product development from concept through production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering.
- 1–2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Basic proficiency in any CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA, or similar).
- Understanding of agricultural machinery and farm operations.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively to farms for field testing and customer interactions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with agricultural equipment or farm mechanization projects.
- Experience in prototype development and field validation.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes and manufacturing.
- Comfortable working in workshop and farm environments.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership.
