Role Description The Junior Advocate Trainee will assist senior advocates and partners with case preparation, research, drafting, and court-related work. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, preparing case notes and briefs, drafting petitions, affidavits, and legal opinions under supervision, and organizing case files and documentation. The trainee will support in client meetings, help gather relevant information, and coordinate with internal teams for litigation and corporate matters. The role may involve regular visits to courts and government offices as required for filings and follow-ups. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai Mogappair West.
Qualifications
- Completed LL.B (or equivalent law degree) from a recognized institution; enrollment with the Bar Council of India (or eligibility to enroll shortly).
- Strong legal research and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret statutes, case law, and legal precedents.
- Proficiency in legal drafting and documentation, including petitions, notices, contracts, and legal opinions.
- Knowledge of constitutional law, civil law, criminal law, and basic corporate and property law concepts.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; working knowledge of Tamil is highly beneficial.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple matters under supervision.
- Professional ethics, integrity, and willingness to learn from experienced advocates in a fast-paced practice.
- Comfort working on-site in Chennai Mogappair West, with readiness for court appearances, client interactions, and field work as required.
