Role Description The Junior Accountant role at The Travel Konnection is a full-time, on-site position based in Kolkata. This role involves assisting with daily accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, processing invoices, and supporting accounts payable and receivable activities. The Junior Accountant will help prepare basic financial reports, reconcile bank statements, and ensure records are accurate and compliant with internal policies. The person in this position will collaborate with the finance team to support budgeting, expense tracking, and audit preparation, while responding to routine accounting queries from internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger management, and basic financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis) to manage and review financial records efficiently.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling numerical data, with solid organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and maintain professional conduct with clients and partners.
- Relevant educational background such as a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications in accounting or finance are an advantage.
- Comfort working in an on-site environment in Kolkata, with openness to learning about the travel industry and supporting operational teams.
- Knowledge in Tally and Accounting ERP Systems.
