Role Description The Junior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The person in this role will assist with daily accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and supporting accounts payable and receivable activities. Responsibilities include preparing basic financial reports, reconciling bank statements, and helping ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards. The Junior Accountant will support month-end and year-end closing activities, maintain organized financial records, and coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders such as auditors or vendors. The role also involves using accounting software, updating spreadsheets, and contributing to process improvements within the finance function.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Ability to work accurately with financial data, including preparing basic financial statements and assisting with audits and compliance documentation.
- Proficiency with accounting and spreadsheet software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar tools; Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets).
- Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain thorough documentation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with finance team members and other departments.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
- Educational background in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred).
- Willingness to learn, adapt to new processes and tools, and grow within a technology-oriented, security-focused organization.
