Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Junior Accountant role based in Assam, India. The Junior Accountant will support daily accounting operations, including posting journal entries, maintaining ledgers, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Responsibilities include processing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and cash accounts, and assisting with inventory-related accounting. The role also involves helping with statutory compliance tasks, such as GST and TDS documentation, supporting internal audits, and ensuring accurate filing and record-keeping. The Junior Accountant will collaborate with finance and operations teams to provide timely financial information and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess basic accounting and bookkeeping skills, including knowledge of journal entries, ledgers, and financial statement fundamentals.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in accounting software and MS Office tools, especially Excel for data entry, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Candidates should possess skills in accounts payable and receivable management, invoice processing, and bank reconciliation.
- Candidates should possess understanding of Indian taxation and compliance, including GST, TDS, and related documentation, or be willing to learn quickly.
- Candidates should possess strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with finance, operations, and external stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet reporting deadlines.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is preferred; relevant internships or entry-level experience in accounting will be an advantage.
