The Challenge

As the Director of Experiential Education, you will lead the strategic development and implementation of the JUMP! Experiential Education (EE) Framework, a comprehensive set of resources, tools, and templates designed to establish and facilitate an intentional and sequential experiential learning program. This role demands a visionary leader who can oversee the creation, enhancement, and management of the EE Framework while ensuring that JUMP!'s programs are safe, effective, and aligned with international best practices.

  • Pioneering Experiential Framework: Lead the creation of a groundbreaking Experiential Education Framework that becomes the gold standard in international education, earning rave reviews from partner schools and AEE accreditation.
  • Global Network Builder: Forge powerful partnerships with leading educational institutions worldwide, expanding JUMP!’s influence and securing collaborations that enhance program offerings and drive global impact.
  • Revenue-Driving Innovation: Generate significant new revenue streams by launching innovative experiential education products and services that resonate with schools and communities, ensuring JUMP!’s financial growth and sustainability.

Key Accountabilities

  • Leadership, Management, Accountability (LMA):
    • Provide strategic leadership and management to Program Directors and Program Managers, ensuring they are aligned with JUMP!’s mission and long-term goals.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the program teams.
  • J!Exp Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Risk Management:
    • Oversee the development, review, and enhancement of JUMP!'s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they are aligned with both the EE Framework and industry best practices.
    • Lead the implementation of comprehensive Risk Management Plans, incorporating ongoing feedback and evaluation to enhance program safety and effectiveness.
  • J! Experiential Education Framework Design:
    • Spearhead the design and evolution of the J! Experiential Education Framework, ensuring it includes a sequential curriculum mapping, risk management planning, and a robust monitoring and evaluation system.
    • Ensure the framework is adaptable to various school contexts and integrates effectively with JUMP!’s diverse program offerings.
  • J! Experiential Education Network Partnerships Oversight:
    • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships within the global experiential education network to enhance program offerings, secure AEE accreditation, and expand JUMP!’s impact.
    • Leverage these partnerships to innovate and continuously improve the EE Framework, ensuring it remains at the cutting edge of experiential education practices.
  • Revenue Generation for J!EE Framework:
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and pursue revenue-generating opportunities for the J! Experiential Education Framework.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase funding and resources, including consulting projects, whole-school support services, and other long-term high-value projects.
Desired Qualifications, Skills And Experience

  • A Bachelors, Masters Degree or equivalent experiences in outdoor education, experiential education or related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a senior leadership role within experiential education or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing experiential education programs that are rooted in intentional learning outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and safety protocols in outdoor and experiential education settings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships and contribute to long-term organizational growth.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and drive them to successful completion.
  • Fluent in English, with additional languages considered an asset.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

CHILD SAFEGUARDING

Applicants are expected to comply with the JUMP! Foundation’s Child Protection Policy. This includes:

  • Signing a personal declaration stating any criminal convictions, including spent convictions.
  • Provide the name and contact information of three references (at least two professionals) they have known for no less than two years, excluding family members. These references must be included in the application form.
