Role Description The Jr Utility Officer is a full-time, on-site role based at RCPL’s facility in Surat. This role is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of plant utilities such as water systems, compressed air, HVAC, and other auxiliary equipment to ensure smooth and reliable manufacturing operations. Day-to-day activities include monitoring utility performance, conducting routine checks, assisting in preventive maintenance, and reporting any deviations or breakdowns to senior engineers. The Jr Utility Officer collaborates with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime, follow safety and compliance standards, and maintain accurate records of utility usage and equipment status. The role also involves supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Foundational technical skills in utility operations, including basic knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems, pumps, compressors, and HVAC equipment.
- Ability to perform routine inspections, assist with preventive maintenance activities, and follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills for logging utility performance data, maintenance activities, and incident reports.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with production, maintenance, and safety teams and escalate issues promptly.
- Basic understanding of industrial safety practices, hygiene standards, and compliance requirements in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering/technical discipline; prior experience in utilities or plant maintenance is an advantage.
- Willingness to work in shifts, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and learn new systems, tools, and processes as required.
