Role Description The Jr F&B Controller is a full-time, on-site role based at The Shalimar Hotel in Mumbai. This role supports the Food & Beverage department with daily cost control activities, including tracking consumption, monitoring variances, and ensuring adherence to budgeting guidelines. The Jr F&B Controller assists in menu costing, analyzing profitability of items, and preparing regular cost and revenue reports for management review. Responsibilities include coordinating with kitchen and service teams to verify stock levels, reviewing purchase orders and invoices, and maintaining accurate records in line with hotel policies. The role also involves identifying cost-saving opportunities, supporting internal audits related to F&B operations, and contributing to process improvements that enhance overall financial performance.
Qualifications
- Strong cost control skills, including experience with F&B cost monitoring and inventory management.
- Proficiency in menu costing, food yield calculations, and basic pricing analysis.
- Well-developed analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision-making.
- Foundational knowledge of finance principles relevant to hospitality operations.
- Competence in accounting practices, including reconciliations, documentation, and report preparation.
- Good proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant software for data analysis and reporting.
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and ability to work collaboratively with F&B and finance teams.
- Prior experience or internship in hotel F&B control or hospitality finance is an advantage.
