About the role

Part Time Sitter

Are you passionate about working with children? Have you gained experience as a babysitter, nanny, daycare worker, church nursery volunteer, or perhaps even as a retired teacher looking for a smaller, more personalized environment than a classroom? If so, we’d love for you to join our sitter team! We're currently hiring part-time sitters in Eastern Washington to help us with special event care needs.

As an Part Time Sitter with us, you will:

  • Care for children in their homes without the need for transportation.
  • Perform light clean-up related to activities or meals with the child, with no household chores expected beyond that.
  • Provide care for children ranging from newborns to toddlers—comfort with newborns is a must!
  • Engage children through safety-focused, hands-on activities that support their age-appropriate development.

Do you prefer the energy and joy of being around kids rather than sitting with the adults? Does babysitting feel like an opportunity to have fun and make a real difference? If you answered yes, we want your authentic love for children and your childcare expertise to support local families. With over 20 years in the business, Jovie has been providing childcare services to families in 37 states and nearly 200 locations across the U.S. We need caregivers who are ready to bring joy, enthusiasm, and care to children. Our San Francisco office serves families throughout Eastern Washington.

Why Work with Jovie?

  • Competitive Pay: $17–$20/hour, based on experience, with steady hours you can count on.
  • Support: A dedicated management team and connection to a supportive community of caregivers.
  • Training & Growth: Ongoing childcare training and opportunities for professional development.
  • Flexibility: Part-time positions with hours that vary week-to-week.
  • Peace of Mind: We screen and vet every family looking for care.
  • Perks & Bonuses: Paid sick leave, 401(k) (when eligible), regular pay increases, and incentive & referral bonuses.

What You’ll Do:

  • Engage: Provide care for children ages 6 weeks to 13 years (depending on your experience). Experience with newborns and infants is a must!
  • Play: Lead fun, age-appropriate activities such as games, crafts, and projects.
  • Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of the children in your care.
  • Meal Prep: Prepare meals and snacks as needed for the kids.
  • Light Clean-Up: Tidy up the kitchen and play areas after activities (with help from the kids when appropriate).
  • Variety: Meet and work with a diverse group of families and children.
