About the Role The Inventory Analyst will be responsible for contributing to optimized inventory levels and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure inventory in the right place at the right time to meet demand. A key part of the responsibilities will involve performing regular cycle counts and rigorous inventory validations to maintain and improve the integrity of our inventory data for finished goods and components. The Inventory Analyst will also partner with suppliers to confirm their production plan meets the business needs and will communicate any pull-forward or pushouts on the plan. The ideal candidate will be in a commutable distance from Santa Clarita. What You will Do: Analyze and Forecast Inventory Needs Monitor inventory levels and use data analytics and forecasting techniques to determine production timing needs. Assess sales trends, market fluctuations, and seasonal patterns to optimize inventory quantities and reduce both stockouts and excess inventory. Conduct Inventory Audits & Cycle Counts Perform regular inventory audits and conduct frequent cycle counts to verify the physical inventory against recorded data. Implement cycle count procedures based on methods such as ABC classification to ensure critical and fast-moving items are counted more often. Investigate discrepancies by comparing physical counts, bar-code scans, and system records, and collaborate with warehouse teams to understand potential issues. Identify root causes of variances and recommend corrective actions to enhance overall inventory accuracy. Perform Inventory Validations Independently validate inventory records by cross-referencing physical counts with inventory management systems. Regularly update, reconcile, and adjust inventory records to reflect real-time stock statuses. Ensure compliance with established procedures for periodic validation activities and document corrective measures when inconsistencies are detected. Utilize Inventory Management Systems Operate and maintain ERP software to track product quantities, locations, and movements. Ensure that all inventory data entries are updated and accurate on all systems, supporting reliable forecasting and decision-making. Collaborate with Internal Teams and Vendors Work closely with purchasing, supply chain, and warehouse teams to align inventory strategies with business needs. Provide actionable insights to improve inventory processes based on cycle count and validation findings. Assist customer service with returns and ensure that the inventory is received back in the system correctly. Develop and Implement Inventory Control Procedures Assist in the creation, refinement, and enforcement of best practices in inventory control. Develop standardized procedures for routine cycle counts and inventory validations aimed at reducing waste and operational costs while increasing accuracy and efficiency. Reporting and Data Analysis Generate detailed, forward-thinking inventory reports for management review. Present data-driven insights regarding inventory fluctuations, cycle count outcomes, and validation discrepancies. Offer actionable recommendations to optimize inventory management processes and support strategic business decisions.
