Position Overview: Drug Safety Physician
ICON is seeking a qualified
Drug Safety Physician to support the medical and pharmacovigilance activities within its clinical research projects. The ideal candidate will ensure adherence to ethical principles, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory standards in all safety-related processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate adverse events (AEs) and adverse drug reactions (ADRs), both serious and non-serious, including MedDRA coding, seriousness, expectedness, relatedness, and listedness.
- Analyze cumulative safety data such as patient profiles, line listings, and safety reports (e.g., Annual Safety Reports, Periodic Safety Update Reports).
- Escalate safety concerns identified during clinical trials or in post-marketing phases and consult with internal teams and clients on resolution strategies.
- Provide training and regulatory support for expedited and periodic reporting of safety data from various sources including clinical trials, post-authorization studies, and spontaneous reporting.
- Participate in the development of project-specific procedures and attend project-related meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and contribute to product documents like the Company Core Data Sheet (CCDS), Product Information Leaflets (PIL), and other regulatory documents.
- Offer expert consultation on pharmacovigilance practices and ensure alignment with regional and global regulatory requirements.
- Support code-break activities and guide safety teams on regulatory reporting obligations.

Candidate Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree, with a valid license to practice.
- 2–3 years of clinical experience in diagnosis and treatment in a hospital setting.
- Prior experience in pharmacovigilance or clinical research is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of pharmacovigilance regulations and clinical trial processes.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
