Data & Platform Engineer - HYBRID Salary: circa £35,000 per annum negotiable depending on experience + fantastic benefits Jisc grade: TDA2 (internal use only) Hours: 35 hours per week Contract: Permanent Location: Hybrid - A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office, we have hubs in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford. Specific patterns for working in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to any of our hub offices. About the role: In this role, you will play a vital part in contributing to the design, implementation and improvement of the data pipelines for complex datasets, with a particular focus on census and international data. This role requires a strong foundation in both data engineering and platform development, with a focus on delivering innovative and scalable solutions. Responsibilities will include: Data Create and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources, ensuring data and metadata quality, accuracy, and consistency. This will include working with large and complex datasets, such as census and international data. Responsibility for implementation of data governance policies and strategies, data quality standards, and data integration processes (as defined by the Data Architect) to guarantee the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of our data. Platforms and tools Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of data platforms, leveraging cloud computing platforms and related services. Design and develop user-friendly extensions to our tools in order to add value to users of census and international data General Maintain and update all relevant documentation Providing support, advice and guidance to users of the UK Data Service
