Job Title: Jira Atlassian Specialist
Location: Remote
Experience Level: 7+ years
Working hours: 2pm to 11pm & 3pm to 12am
Job Type: Full-Time
We are looking for a hands-on Jira Atlassian Developer / Specialist with strong experience developing and supporting enterprise Jira Cloud environments. This is not primarily a Jira administration role. The successful candidate must be capable of designing and developing Jira solutions using REST APIs, scripting, automation, and integrations, and should have practical experience supporting Jira Cloud-to-Cloud migrations. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop and maintain solutions on Jira Cloud, including workflows, custom configurations, automation, and integrations.
- Develop integrations using Jira REST APIs, JSON, webhooks and appropriate authentication mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain cloud-compatible scripts and extensions, including Script Runner for Jira Cloud and/or Atlassian Forge-based solutions where appropriate.
- Participate in and technically support Jira Cloud-to-Cloud migrations, including discovery, migration planning, configuration/data mapping, migration execution, validation and remediation.
- Identify migration challenges involving custom fields, workflows, schemes, field layout/context merges, users/groups, permissions, automation, integrations and Marketplace applications.
- Develop utilities/scripts using APIs where standard migration tooling does not adequately address migration or reconciliation requirements.
- Perform pre- and post-migration validation, including record counts, configuration comparison, permissions, workflows, attachments, issue relationships and integrations.
- Troubleshoot complex Jira Cloud issues involving REST APIs, automation, scripts, integrations and platform limitations.
- Configure and support Xray Test Management and other Atlassian Marketplace applications.
Required Technical Skills The candidate must have: - Strong hands-on Jira development, not only Jira administration.
- Strong Jira Cloud experience.
- Experience writing cloud-native Groovy scripts (via Script Runner/HAPI), Atlassian Forge apps, or REST API integrations to handle complex Jira Cloud data transformations and workflow automations.
- Experience with Jira Automation, including smart values, branching, conditions and REST/webhook integrations.
- Practical experience with at least one Jira Cloud migration, preferably Cloud-to-Cloud.
- Ability to troubleshoot migration failures and develop solutions for configurations or data that cannot be migrated cleanly.
- Strong knowledge of workflows, screens, schemes, custom fields, permissions, issue types, validators, conditions and post-functions.
- Experience with Xray and the broader Atlassian ecosystem.
