Position: Assistant Manager – Design & Civil Engineering

Reporting To: Senior Manager / Project Head
Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager – Design & Civil Engineering will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising civil and structural aspects of projects. The role involves coordination with internal teams, consultants, and site execution teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery while maintaining quality and compliance with standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review civil and structural designs, drawings, and BOQs.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and project teams for design finalization.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Indian standards (IS codes), statutory regulations, and safety norms.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Review contractor drawings and provide technical approvals.
- Assist in project planning, budgeting, and cost control activities.
- Resolve technical issues during execution and provide engineering solutions.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) during all project stages.
- Maintain proper documentation of drawings, revisions, and approvals.
- Support tendering process with technical inputs and vendor evaluations.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of structural design and civil engineering principles
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, or ETABS
- Understanding of project management and construction methodologies
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong coordination and communication abilities
- Knowledge of contracts and commercial aspects is an added advantage
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)
- Master’s Degree (M.Tech) is preferred
Experience:
- 7-11 years of experience in civil design and project execution
- Experience in infrastructure, industrial, or real estate projects preferred
Key Deliverables:
- Timely completion of design deliverables
- Zero major design deviations at execution stage
- Compliance with quality and safety standards
- Effective coordination with stakeholders
