POSITION SUMMARY:
The part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN) will address the behavioral health needs of clients by conducting psychiatric evaluation, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Uses current evidence-based practice, research and clinical knowledge to improve patient outcomes and reduce complications.
· Conducts mental health histories and assessments.
· Formulates behavioral health treatment plan and manages acute and chronic mental health needs.
· Maintains clients’ records by reviewing case notes, logging events and progress.
· Document in accordance with all regulatory requirements made by licensing and third-party agencies.
· Completes other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor that are consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in nursing.
• Graduation from accredited master’s level Nurse Practitioner program with a specialty in psychiatry.
• Licensed to practice as a nurse practitioner in Connecticut.
