Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a GOLD MANGALSUTRA DESIGNER ROLE located in Mumbai. The Jewelry Designer will be responsible for creating unique jewelry designs, drawing detailed sketches, and working on product design. The role involves using computer-aided design (CAD) tools and collaborating with the production team to ensure designs meet quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- End-to-end mangalsutra design: ideation, hand/CAD sketching, technical drawings, and production-ready specifications.
- Coordinate with karigar teams, and QC to ensure build fidelity from sketch to production without adding “optimization” KPIs in the role scope.
- Conduct trend and competitor research; integrate appropriate regional motifs and modern silhouettes for domestic and export relevance.
- Plan and execute exhibitions strategy and new range showcases five times per year, including collection curation, display planning, readiness packs, and trade narratives to support B2B engagement and orders.
Must-have qualifications
- 2+ years of industry experience with exposure to the jewellery sector; strong mangalsutra/fine jewelry portfolio preferred.
- Proficiency in jewelry CAD and solid hand sketching; understanding of casting, assembly, soldering, beadwork, findings, locks, and basic stone-setting/enamel concepts.
- Good communication skills in Hindi and English for cross-team coordination and retail partner interactions.
Good-to-have
- Experience with regional design vocabularies.
- Familiarity with hallmarking norms and practical behavior of 22 kt alloys in production contexts.
Working model and compensation
- Full-time, on-site in Mumbai; standard workweek with flexibility around five annual showcases and collection drops.
- Salary: To be discussed based on work output, portfolio strength, and agreed working hours; performance-linked incentives may apply to milestone deliveries and sell-through outcomes.
