role description
we're looking for a jewellery designer to join bavra. the role is based out of south ex, delhi. you'll work closely with our founding team on creative direction, collection building, and making sure every piece we put out has a point of view.
storytelling is at the heart of everything we do at bavra. We're looking for someone who understands that design is never just aesthetic; it carries meaning, intention, and character.
you bring 3–4 years of experience in jewellery design, know your materials well, and aren't afraid of the unconventional. You think creatively and commercially, and can collaborate seamlessly with the teams
key responsibilities
creative direction & design leadership
- define and lead the brand’s design language and collection strategy.
- create original, trend-forward jewellery designs that stand apart while retaining wearability.
- guide the design team in translating the brand’s ethos into innovative sketches, moodboards, and cad-ready outputs.
research, trends & market intelligence
- drive competitor and market analysis across global and regional jewellery brands.
- forecast seasonal and long-term trends through in-depth research on WGSN, BOF, vogue, harper’s bazaar, jck, l’officiel, and key industry publications.
- stay connected with exhibitions, trade fairs, and global design movements to identify new opportunities.
- incorporate influences from art, architecture, fashion, and culture into unique jewellery concepts.
collaboration & cross-functional partnership
- work closely with gemologists, craftsmen, production, and merchandising to align design with execution and pricing.
- collaborate with marketing and branding to ensure collections are presented with strong narratives and visual storytelling.
leadership & mentorship
- build, mentor, and inspire the design team to push creative boundaries while ensuring consistency with the brand ethos
- stay at the forefront of new materials, techniques, and technologies shaping modern jewellery.
- lead the integration of sustainable practices and innovative materials into design.
- bring global perspectives and insights to keep the brand ahead of trends.
requirements
- bachelor’s or master’s degree in jewellery design or related field from a reputed design institution (NID, NIFT, GIA, etc)
- 3-4 years of professional experience in jewellery design, including leadership/creative direction roles.
- strong portfolio showcasing originality, technical mastery, and successful collections with stories & inspirations.
- proficiency in rhino, matrixGold, adobe illustrator, and photoshop (knowledge of ai-driven tools is a plus).
- excellent understanding of diamonds, semi-precious stones, unconventional design languages, and advanced setting techniques.
- strong knowledge of international luxury markets and consumer preferences.

salary range: ₹ 8-10 per annum (based on experience and expertise).
