About the role
Jenius Bank is a digital banking business of Manufacturers Bank, committed to building a full-service digital bank from scratch. They are seeking a self-directed Web Engineer to build web applications, collaborating with various teams to design, build, and maintain digital bank websites.
Own the responsibility for the full life cycle of web development design, development, unit testing and implementation.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure proper testing and maintenance.
Partner with product, design, and other internal teams to build a performant and user centric website.
Embrace and Champion the use of web development best practices.
Frontend-Backend integration: Experience collaborating with backend developers to integrate frontend components with server-side APIs, ensuring efficient data flow and communication.
Product collaboration: Ability to work closely with product teams to analyze requirements, identify challenges, and provide technical recommendations.
JavaScript & Frontend Frameworks: Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and experience with modern frontend frameworks/libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
Cross-Browser & Responsive Development: Strong experience in coding for various browsers and devices to ensure consistent user experience.
Web Standards & Usability: Good knowledge of web layout principles, usability guidelines, and W3C standards.
Security Best Practices: Solid understanding of security principles related to web development.
Accessibility Compliance: Ability to ensure the user interface meets WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and is usable by individuals with impairments.
Version Control: Familiarity with Git for version control.
Agile Development: Experience working in an Agile environment, including software design, development, and testing.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and effectively.
