Description


The Outside Sales Representative will focus on multi-level relationships with customers and prospects. The Outside Sales Representative achieves maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company’s products and/or related services. The OSR will conduct sales out in the field via face-to-face interactions with both potential and existing customers. They are responsible for offering the best possible customer experience as well as providing hands-on explanations of any new or updated products when necessary. Their excellent social skills allow them to foster strong relationships, to which they can attribute much of their success. 


Responsibilities Include:

  • Utilizes transportation information and marketing software to gain industry knowledge.
  • Makes telephone calls, in-person visits, and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business, conduct a minimum of 12 sales presentations per week by physical visits to customer locations.
  • Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue.
  • Complete scheduled and cold call prospecting activities to establish first and follow-up appointments with customer decision makers.
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers with customers and prospects.
  • Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Make front-line assessment of market conditions and advise company of possible shipping possibilities.
  • Coordinate and interact with the management team weekly to ensure all customer needs are communicated to maximize freight opportunities.
  • Develop a weekly sales schedule as well as an after sales ROI report on visits which will be approved by the VP of Sales.
  • Maintain accurate records, including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices, and other documentation.
  • Meet or exceed sales benchmarks and goals provided by company leadership.
  • Utilize JEARnet to capture and log daily sales efforts and information gathered.
  • Work with our Sales Managers, Sales Trainers, and Brokers to uncover prospecting opportunities. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
  • 2+ years relevant experience in Outside sales.
  • High energy.
  • Outgoing personality.
  • VERY conversational.  Someone that can carry the conversation.
  • Aggressive and Competitive. Can turn a no into a yes through persistence and follow up.
  • Professional but can adapt themselves to any situation.  
  • Some overnight stays.
  • High work ethic.  
  • Money Motivated.
