We’re looking for an experienced and engaging babysitter who is open to a flexible schedule—hours may shift from week to week depending on our program needs. Under the direction of the AD of Family Programming, the Babysitter (Lead babysitter) will provide childcare for children ages (3 months-11 years) while keeping them safe and engaged. Babysitters will staff JCare Babysitting which is a drop-off childcare program. Babysitters endeavor to create a safe, nurturing, and playful environment for children ranging from infants to school aged children. The babysitting shifts will take place primarily on weekend mornings with some occasional opportunities to work weekday morning shifts.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children by overseeing daily check-in procedures, facilitating age-appropriate activities, and supporting positive social interactions—while maintaining safety protocols and attentive supervision:
- Welcome children and caregivers as they arrive, make note of any unique needs for the children (ex. Allergies, medications etc.)
- Oversee check in process with families including online reservation management.
- Ensure children’s safety and adherence to rules (e.g. no climbing on furniture).
- Create a dynamic, fun play space – engaging children in activities and directing them towards available toys and programs.
- Facilitate arts & crafts activities for older classroom, as needed.
- Facilitate children’s interactions by introducing newcomers and supporting cooperative play.
- Assist with supervision and/or redirection of children.
- Implement educational activities, games, and creative play.
- Monitor children during indoor play.
Ensure a safe, supportive, and organized environment by professionally communicating concerns or needs with caregivers, staff and management as appropriate, as well as adhering to safety protocols and facility and licensing standards:
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom, including sanitizing toys and surfaces.
- Communicate with caregivers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ensure that caregivers have prepped children before dropping them off (changing diapers, feedings, clean clothing).
- Observe and report any behavioral or health concerns to manager.
- Follow all safety and health regulations as outlined by the facility and licensing authorities.
- Be familiar with emergency protocols. Escalate any safety concerns with appropriate parties.

· Actively create a welcoming dynamic environment where each individual feels seen and welcomed.

Job Details: This is a limited part-time, non-exempt position. Work schedule is not fixed and may vary depending on staffing needs, coverage requirements, and operational demands. Hours can range from 2-8 hours per week. Offering great perks, a supportive vibrant in-person work environment, and a competitive starting pay rate of $20.00 - $22.00 per hour. The pay rate offered will ultimately be determined by relevant qualifications, experience, and JCC's internal equity.
