About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior DB2 Data Engineer to join our client's team in Houston, TX. This role focuses on SQL stored procedure development on IBM iSeries (AS400), RPG to SQL conversion, and integrating data through modern APIs. Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and optimize SQL stored procedures on IBM i (AS400)
· Lead RPG to SQL conversion efforts to modernize legacy applications
· Work with IBM tools such as Aldon, RDI, ACS
· Design and implement REST APIs, JSON, XML for seamless data integration
· Support data modeling, ETL pipelines, and microservices architecture
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven solutions
Requirements:
· 5+ years of experience in DB2 SQL development on IBM i (AS400)
· Proven experience with RPG to SQL conversion
· Strong knowledge of IBM development tools (Aldon, RDI, ACS)
· Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, XML for data integration
· Python and microservices experience is a plus.
