About The Role
We are seeking experienced software engineers at the tech lead level to join our innovative project focused on Large Language Model (LLM) evaluation and training datasets. This role involves working closely with our research and development teams to build datasets that enable LLMs to effectively address realistic software engineering challenges. You will play a key role in automating development environments, triaging issues from open-source repositories, and assessing the quality and coverage of test suites. Your expertise will directly influence the creation of verifiable software engineering tasks based on public repositories, contributing to the expansion of dataset coverage across multiple programming languages and difficulty levels. This position offers an exciting opportunity to blend advanced software engineering skills with AI research, impacting the future of intelligent software development tools.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on JavaScript and TypeScript. Proficiency with version control systems such as Git, containerization tools like Docker, and familiarity with setting up and managing software pipelines are essential. Candidates should have a solid understanding of navigating complex codebases, running, modifying, and testing real-world projects locally. Experience contributing to or evaluating open-source projects is highly advantageous. Additionally, excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and triage issues from GitHub repositories, particularly focusing on trending open-source libraries.
- Set up, configure, and maintain development environments, including Dockerization and environment management.
- Evaluate unit test coverage and quality to ensure robustness of codebases.
- Modify and run codebases locally to assess the performance of LLMs in bug-fixing and code understanding scenarios.
- Collaborate with research teams to identify repositories and issues that pose challenges for LLMs, aiding in dataset creation and evaluation.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring project milestones are met.
