Role Description The Java Technical Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This role is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of Java-based applications, ensuring scalability, security, and high performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding the engineering team, reviewing code, defining technical standards, and collaborating closely with product owners, architects, and QA to deliver robust solutions. The Java Technical Lead will participate in architectural discussions, troubleshoot complex issues, mentor developers, and support the adoption of best practices in clean code, testing, and DevOps. The role also involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, contributing to technical documentation, and staying current with emerging Java and cloud technologies.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Core Java, Java EE/Spring Framework, and related backend technologies; experience designing and implementing scalable, secure APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL), ORM frameworks, and performance tuning of data-intensive applications.
- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in technical leadership, including mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, and defining coding standards and best practices.
- Solid understanding of software architecture patterns, design principles, and test-driven or automated testing practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to break down complex requirements, and deliver maintainable solutions in an agile environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with product, QA, and business stakeholders on-site.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; prior experience as a Senior Java Developer or Technical Lead in enterprise projects is highly beneficial.
